TOMBALL, Texas – February 28, 2017 — In its commitment to quality and innovation, Tomball Regional Medical Center (TRMC) hosted an on-site Cardiovascular Mobile Learning Lab on Feb. 27 to provide an opportunity for health professionals at TRMC to learn more about one of the smallest minimally invasive heart support technologies in the country and how they can best be used for patients in critical need of cardiac support.
“Innovative technologies in healthcare enable talented medical staff to provide even better care to their patients,” said Tom Jackson, CEO, TRMC. “Given the pace of technological developments and the awareness of the possibilities it offers, there is a greater expectation and demand from patients for us to use technology to deliver a higher standard of care and support. We embrace technology as a way to ensure quality and we strive to equip our physicians with the right tools and knowledge. ”
The Mobile Learning Lab is a highly interactive, facilitated learning experience that enables hospital and health providers to learn more about cardiac procedures utilizing a small heart pump device that re-opens blocked arteries due to heart disease. The heart pump is a minimally invasive device intended for temporary use by patients with severe symptomatic CAD and diminished, but stable, heart function who are undergoing a PCI procedure but are not candidates for surgical coronary bypass treatment.
TRMC offers comprehensive cardiac care services through the Tomball Regional Heart and Vascular Center. The center is recognized as a Chest Pain Center with PCI accreditation by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. Dedicated to the detection, management and control of cardiac disease in adults, the center features a cath lab with advanced imaging technology that enables physicians and clinicians to provide an enhanced level of timely, quality heart care to the community.
